![]() ![]() The very wiki we have both linked gives an example of why we need the ability to change hotkey combos. ![]() However, in this case (hotkey combos), Recalbox is shooting itself in the foot. That design perspective is what attracted me to try recalbox. Your best choice is to use the "Game Focus" option, but you need a real (USB or wireless) keyboard connected to your system. Hotkeys are an integral part of recalbox and retroarch working, as they are even shared on non-retroarch (standalone) emulators. Some settings for retroarch and cores are to be reset to the default values as a safety net. It is noted by the devs that in fact that some ebay sellers do build retrogaming cabinets for quite a premium, installing Recalbox as the OS, dump BIOS and roms and do nothing else for settings, as the system will work out of the box without need for fiddling. Recalbox after all is made to be used "out of the box" by people that have almost zero experience with emulation and computers in general. Some setting (like hotkeys) not being able to be changed is to avoid unfixable issues that are hard to understand in case a user requests support. The idea of the overloads is to edit some game or core specific settings by the user, without the need to edit the original stock files. I will try this after I get some shut-eye. How should this be done with Recalbox?ĮDIT: After a little more searching, I think I found the answer to my question here: ![]() I would like to disable all hotkeys except the "select+b" combo that brings up the RetroArch menu. BAM! Game reset and an hour of play was lost. While jumping, I hit Select to turn off my missiles. It's really a deal-breaker for me if we can't edit the hotkey combos. I was really impressed with and liking Recalbox until I hit this issue. I've tried doing all of this with a Save Core Override also but that doesn't save my changes either. I exit, launch game, and BAM, the hotkey settings are right back where they were before. (This is after I have "Close Current Content"). Whenever I go into RetroArch menu, Settings, Input, Hotkeys and edit the buttons, I go back to the main menu and Save Current Config. I've been using Retropie and RetroArch for years.
